Colac Police investigating

The Colac Aero Club believes a ute or four wheel drive was used to steal equipment over the weekend.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the theft of aircraft parts, accessories and aviation fuel between 5PM Friday and 7:30AM Saturday.

The club has published a list of items on its Facebook page which were stolen by the thieves.

"Multiple tool boxes and tool bags.
Aviation tools
Avgas, siphoned, and in jerry cans
Jerry Cans, red plastic type
Bulk aviation oil in 20 litre jerry cans
Aviation headsets, approx. six sets
GPS devices
Aviation Radios
Gas welding kit in Chrome style case
9kg gas bottle
ARB Winch
HF Radio
UHF Radios
Piranha Dual Battery System
4wd accessories
High pressure water pump and hose
Space Cases, Blue
Air Compressor
Spray painting equipment

The club says tyre tracks indicate the type of vehicle used by the thieves and they're hoping someone in the Irrewarra area may have seen it.

It's the latest in a series of thefts from country airstrips around Victoria.
