Local Truckies To Once Again Give To Camp Quality

A truck convoy will converge in Colac on Sunday morning before the local drivers make their way to Geelong in aid of children's cancer charity, Camp Quality.

The 30 local trucks will arrive outside McDonalds in Murray Street between 5.30am and 6am before setting off to arrive at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers site.

The local trucks will be met by over 200 trucks from right across the state.

Leading the convoy from Colac will be Phil Garrett of Wettenhalls, who raised thousands of dollars for the charity at a fundraising auction back in November.

"It's the fourth time I've been involved in the convoy. I organised a bit of a trivia night and auction back in November for Camp Quality, which raised $7,405.

"They'll probably get a few more donations on Sunday, but the raising of that money back in November and that, that's what does it. We rallied around the town and a big thanks to the Colac businesses and transport companies for all the help. Hopefully it all goes well on the day for the kids."
