Woman flown to Melbourne Hospital

A woman was airlifted to Melbourne following a two car accident East of Camperdown Monday evening.

Police say the crash happened when the woman's car ran into the back of a ute turning right off the Princes Highway.

The 59 year old Camperdown woman had to be cut from her car by emergency services and was flown to Melbourne with leg injuries.

The male driver of the ute was not injured in the accident.

Police and emergency services from Camperdown, Cobden and Mortlake attended with the highway closed for around two hours.

The accident happened around 5.50 Monday evening.

The woman remains in hospital.
