“The concept was developed from ideas and priorities raised in the surveys with the Cobden community earlier in the year,” Mr Mason said.
“Earlier this year we invited community members to contribute their ideas as to what should be included in the project and they came up with 31 ideas. These were given a rough costing and we went back to the community with a survey in May. “There were about 60 responses with varying opinions on the project elements and the concept plan has sought to find the right balance of those opinions.
“We hope to get a good response from the people who use the town centre so the end result reflects their needs. The goal is to improve amenity and the ability for Cobden residents to go about their daily business safely and conveniently.
“The plans will be available for comment over the next four weeks. After community members have shared their feedback, detailed designs will be finalised and tenders sought for the work. Construction is expected to happen early next year.”
