Short Chase Leads To Arrest Of A Colac Man In Camperdown

Police are thanking members of the public for their assistance, after a 30 year old Colac man was arrested by Colac Police on Friday, in regards to two large thefts

Officers arrested the man following a short chase near a bus stop on Friday afternoon, after residents noticed the man from CCTV images that had been posted by local police online after a theft from the Commercial Hotel in Camperdown.

Police allege he stole $4800 in cash from a draw at Camperdown's Commercial Hotel on September 24, and had stolen computer games worth $2200 from Target in Colac.

The man was charged with theft and handling stolen goods and was remanded to appear in the Geelong Magistrates' Court on Monday.
