Festival To Go Ahead - But In Lorne?

The future of summer music festivals remains uncertain as coronavirus cancellations continue, however one festival says it will be going ahead.

Falls Festival organisers confirmed yesterday they will push ahead with their plans for the iconic New Years event.

There will be tweaks to the event, with organisers announcing an all Australian line-up in 'a shortened' format, as the future of international travel remains uncertain.

However, organisers are yet to announce whether or not the festival will return to Lorne - with no dates or locations set in concrete.

Lorne as a location remains controversial after the cancellation of the festival last year due to potential bushfire risk.

A code red fire day forced the cancellation of the final two days of the popular music event, leaving some visitors stranded.

Falls, which is run by touring company Secret Sounds, said in a statement it was listening to official health advice as it prepared for the December event.
