A man has tragically died and a woman and child injured after their car rolled between Birregurra and Deans Marsh on Saturday afternoon.

The crash took place on Rifle Butts Road at Whoorel when the man’s car veered off the road and rolled, landing on its roof.

The driver died at the scene and two of his passengers, a woman and a boy, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It's believed the incident occurred at around 2.30pm.

Victoria Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
