Final section of Foxhow Road to be widened
The final stage to widen a single lane road will begin later this year, according to VicRoads.
Foxhow Road connects Camperdown to the Hamilton Highway but the middle section of the road is only a single lane.
The northern and southern sections of the road were widened last year.
VicRoads is now calling for tenders to widen a four kilometre section in the middle of the road.
Regional Director Mark Koliba says contractors will begin work later this year.
"Unfortunately this road, has quite a length of just one lane.
"An increase in traffic volumes and the mixture of motorists with heavy vehicles, means you have people having to go off onto the gravel shoulder to avoid the oncoming traffic."
The work is being completed through a $40 million dollar Victorian Government funding package for South West Victoria to upgrade narrow roads.
