Drop In Sessions For The Formation Of The Great Ocean Road Authority

Work to set up the new Great Ocean Road Authority is progressing quickly, with consultation now open on potential governance arrangements and channels for community involvement.

Feedback is sought on potential options for how community integration could occur as well as different funding models for the Authority, so it is sustainable long-term and able to meet the challenges of climate change and increasing visitor numbers.

A lead agency is needed because more than 30 organisations currently have responsibilities in the region meaning there is no overarching management or coordination of investment, no clearly defined partnership with Traditional Owners and no holistic planning for the touring experience.

The community will be asked what they think is the best way for the community to interact with the Authority once established to ensure their views are always considered by the Authority.

Community drop-in sessions will be held across the region in November.
