Colac Imperials Womens Football Club After New Players For 2020

Just over 5 weeks out from their first senior grading game, the Colac Imperials womens footy side's numbers are down on their previous two years.

The girls, who featured in the Division 2 Grand Final in 2018, as well as a Division 1 Finals Series in 2019, are after new players ahead of the 2020 season.

Speaking to the Mixx Morning Crew, Colac Imperials Womens Football Vice Captain Kaila Morris encouraged new girls to get along to training and try out footy.

"We're just chasing a few more numbers, it'd be good to have a few new faces join the side. We're all like one big family, the social side of it is fantastic. Some of us are mums, some of us are young girls, we all fit in together and it's just a lot of fun."

Coach Tim Hassett said he was confident they'd have enough numbers to get a senior side up and going again.

"We're not hiding from the fact that numbers are pretty low at the minute. I'm pretty confident that by the start of the season we'll have enough numbers. In saying that, you traditionally need around 25-30 numbers; we don't have that at the minute, so if you're thinking of playing then get along to training and have a crack."

The Colac Imperials Womens side are training on Tuesday nights from 6pm at the Lake Oval. Juniors are training at Trinity College Colac on Wednesday nights.

The girls are scheduled to play their first grading game against St Marys on Sunday April 5.
