Otway Odyssey Goes Back To Its Roots

Organisers of the gruelling Otway Odyssey mountain bike race have announced the event is returning to its roots in 2021.

The famous 100km race is pencilled in for late February next year and will head back to its traditional format, last seen in 2011 in which riders will start in Apollo Bay, cross the Otway Ranges and finish at Forrest.

This ‘original’ 100km course is the stuff of legends due to the size of the hills and the rugged terrain it crossed which helped establish the event as one of Australia’s toughest and most respected mountain bike races.

Riders not quite up to the full length course can choose from 50km 30km and 10km options while the 'Grommets' ride, held on the Forrest football oval, accommodates those kids keen to give it a go.

All races are held on February 20 next year with a cash prize pool of almost $10,000.
