No more hiding your dog or cat during inspections
The days of hiding your pet dog or cat when you've got a rental inspection are numbered, with the state government unveiling new laws that make owning a pet in your rental property much easier.
Landlords will still need to provide consent to allow your furry friends into the house, but they can only refuse in certain circumstances, although these haven't been revealed.
The changes come into effect in 2018 and will affect a portion of the 4,125 renters in the Colac Otway, Corangamite and Surf Coast shires.
The RSPCA have welcomed the change.
