"I was lucky enough to be approached by Sun Pharma and at the same time pretty much by the Timboon Distillery, to see if there was anything they could both do to help, and that began the collaboration" Mr Hoy said.
"We've rolled this out to an additional three large hospitals across the region, so Hamilton, Portland and Colac, and it will further go out to another 8 health services across the region".
South West Healthcare alone requires at least 1000 litres of sanitizer every 7-10 days.
Owner and head distiller at Timboon Distillery Joshua Walker, says it's been quite a whirlwind past two weeks, but they are happy to have been able to bring back staff, and be a part of the process.
"10 days ago I was still running a restaurant and that all changed on Sunday night there, we had to lay off all our staff on the Monday" he said.
"Then I came into SWH on the Tuesday and just said can I help at all supplying any ethanol, because I knew that was the base product for sanitizer"
"Terry came down and saw me and we started the ball rolling from there in a very short space of time, we've actually installed a second still to lift production and get it all happening in the space of 48 hours"
"We're running the stills 24/7 round the clock, I've got a chesterfield couch I sleep on there every night, and the other guys come and relieve me during the day".
