Mortlake spinner to take part in Ashes defence

South west cricketing export Georgia Wareham has been included in a strong Australia squad to travel to the United Kingdom for the upcoming Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes tour.

The leg spinner was named as part of the 14-player group, unveiled by Cricket Australia on Tuesday, to contest the multi-format, points-based series.

Wareham started her cricketing journey with Mortlake before being called up to the Melbourne Renegades in the 2015-16 WBBL season, which has led to 6 One Day and 11 T20 Australian caps, a spot in the victorious Womans T20 World Cup squad last year, and as of April, a national contract.

The Southern Stars full UK Ashes tour is below.
