Libs-Nats pledge to suspend rollout
The rollout of those wire rope barriers on our local roads will be suspended and reviewed if the Liberal Nationals win the next state election.
The opposition says it's concerned the latest round of wire rope barriers are being installed in the wrong places and without proper planning, making some roads more dangerous instead of safer.
Opposition Roads spokesman David Hodgett says the installation of the barriers is putting the lives of motorists and emergency services at risk.
Roads Minister Luke Donnellan has consistently defended the wire rope barriers.
"There is no evidence in the world which indicates these barriers do anything but save lives, full stop.
So people can go around playing banjos, playing conspiracy theories, rubbish like that, they need to actually deal with the facts and figures.
